The Tasting Notes:
First I would like to Thank The Macallan Distillers LTD for giving me the opportunity to review this fine Scotch.
For my review I received 1 bottle of Macallan 18 Year Sherry Oak Scotch. The Scotch was a very smooth drink. It is rich in colour with dried fruits, spice and chocolate orange. The family had to try it of course. They all thought it was very smooth and very rich in flavor. Scotch lovers around the world would enjoy this fine product.
For the 2010 holiday season, The Macallan® Single Malt Scotch Whisky is bringing something new to the table -- and to your bar.
It’s the ultimate holiday gift pack for the esteemed Sherry Oak 18 Years Old ($150), and it’s edgy, and eye-catching. Though the deep, rich flavors of dried fruits, spice, dark chocolate and orange can easily work a room themselves, the new purple and white encasement makes an instant statement on any spirit sophisticate’s top-shelf display.
The Macallan Sherry oak is exclusively matured for a minimum of 18 years in Spanish oak casks, handcrafted and sherry seasoned in Jerez, Spain. This delivers a classic Macallan style, wonderfully rich in colour with dried fruits, spice and chocolate orange.
Dried fruits and ginger, with a hint of citrus, vanilla and cinnamon.
Rich dried fruits, with spice clove, orange and wood smoke
Full and lingering, with dried fruits and sweet toffee, giner and a hint of wood smoke
The Perfect Serve:
Enjoy with nothing added
Add a splash of water to release the flavours
Add ice for a more intense experience of flavours
With Ice and Water
Add ice and water for a combination of sensations
I would recommend this product!
This would make an excellent Christmas gifts for family, friends or co-workers!
