Lucid Absinthe Superieure Holiday Gift Pack Review

Print Friendly and PDF

First, I would like to Thank Viridian Spirits for giving me the opportunity to do this review!  I received a bottle of Lucid Absinthe, Two Custom Lucid Absinthe glasses and a slotted spoon for louching.  This is really a different kind of drink.  It taste like licorice, kind of like Galliano, Sambucca or Jagermeister.  The licorice flavor I think was stronger than the other ones I mentioned.  I made a Harvey Wallbanger with it and many other types of drinks.  They were really good.

Lucid Holiday Gift Pack

Retail price: $59.99

Availability: Retailers nationwide

Lucid Absinthe Superieure is 62% Alcohol by Volume
(124 Proof)

How to louche (pronounced “loosh”):

Pour Lucid into the custom glass, balance the spoon over the top of the glass, place a sugar cube on the spoon, and drizzle ice-cold water over the sugar cube and spoon into the glass.  The water will release the essential oils of the herbs from which Lucid is made, as well as transform the liquid to a milky, opaque, very pale green.  The genteel louching ritual began with Parisian Café Society (think Claude Monet and Oscar Wilde) and continues with modern-day entertaining as an elegant way to extend a spirited dinner!

Give the gift of history, mystery, and elegance with Lucid Absinthe Lucid, a genuine absinthe with a full measure of Grande Wormwood, was the brand responsible for lifting the U.S. absinthe ban in 2007.  This category pioneer, now available in all 50 states, commands over 60% of American absinthe consumption.  A distinctive host or hostess gift, the Lucid holiday pack includes everything needed for traditional absinthe enjoyment, known as louching.

Check out the many different cocktail recipes you can use Lucid Absinthe Superieure in, at Drink Lucid.

They even have their own store that has apparel and bar supplies.

A tad bit pricey, but certainly a nice gift for someone who enjoys something different every once in a while.
