The Night Night Book Review and Giveaway - Ends 05-30-11
Kids love it when you read to them, especially before they go to sleep! For this review I received this darling little book called "The Night Night Book" by Marianne Richmond. I read it to my three year old granddaughter, she loved listening to grandma read her the book while she looked at all the colorful pictures. After reading it to her, she had to say night night to just about everything in her room. It's the perfect bedtime book for toddlers and preschoolers.
About The Night Night Book
The Night Night Book takes readers on a tour of the house as everyone settles in for the night. Whimsical artwork and comforting scenes show kids it’s time to bid the day farewell and rest up for a new tomorrow. Marianne said this was a fun one to illustrate for her using acrylic paint on canvas boards with collage. The Night Night Book is a board book — a sturdy cardboard, 24-page book perfect for the littlest hands! The latest reviews showed that moms and kids are liking this sweet farewell to the day — hooray!
About Marianne Richmond
In 2010, Marianne wound down her own company to make way for an exciting publishing partnership with Chicago’s Sourcebooks who will publish and distribute her books going forward. She licensed her card line to LeaninTree in Boulder, CO, a family-run company that has been in the greeting card business since 1949! She sells her popular jewelry line, Magnet House Jewelry, to loyal customers around the country.While she has enjoyed business ownership, she is thankful to leave it to someone else and re-focus on the business of writing and illustrating and creating … and growing four awesome kids — her daily source of laughter, inspiration, patience-testing antics and joy.
Lots of people ask Marianne if she always like to write and draw. “No more than any young girl loves art … ” she says. Through her periodic school presentations, Marianne enjoys showing school kids her early drawings to prove that “you have to start somewhere!” She also enjoys looking through her mom’s keepsake boxes housing a young Marianne’s creations. “I traced the butterflies from my childhood bedroom wallpaper and took a match to the corners of several things for the aged look,” she laughs.
Marianne currently lives in Minneapolis, MN with her even-keeled husband, Jim, their four kids, and their senior citizen Border Collie, Clay.
