Does your family love Strawberry Shortcake?  I got just the show for you, it's called Strawberry Shortcake: Growing Up Dreams.  I watched it with my granddaughter and it's an adorable show!  She just loved it and has watched it many more times!  For this review I received a copy of Strawberry Shortcake: Growing Up Dreams.

Whether Strawberry is at the Berryfest or ‘Putting on the Glitz’ or ‘Growing Up Dreams,’ she is always ready for quite the adventure – even when she’s baking her favorite recipes!

The traditional strawberry shortcake recipe is a long-standing family favorite and perfect for summer, but there's something to be said for giving this classic dessert a little facelift!  Here, we will list Strawberry shortcake and friends’ favorite recipes that are fun and kid-friendly so families can jazz up their baking time in the kitchen.


STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE

Strawberry’s favourite ingredients
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup white sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 cup butter
2/3 cup heavy cream
1 egg beaten
3 cups sliced fresh strawberries
3 tablespoons white sugar


Lemon Meringue



Lemon Meringue says baking lemon meringue cookies is a fun alternative to the traditional lemon meringue pie.  Sweet, crispy cookies are one of the popular types of desserts kids will love.  They can be eaten at breakfast (with Mom’s permission) or after meals or any time of the day.  Cookies in various ways using different ingredients such as butter, chocolate, sugar, nuts and dry fruits.  Meringue cookies are one of the popular types of cookies that is also a fun treat to make with kids!

Lemon Meringue’s Cookies Ingredients

1 cup super-fine or Baker’s sugar
1 package sugar-free lemon gelatin
6 egg whites
¼ tsp cream of tarter
¼ tsp salt


Blueberry Muffin



Blueberry’s favorite treat is the traditional Blueberry Muffin!  Blueberry says they are easy to make and healthy too.  You can make blueberry muffins in less than an hour so it’s a fun but short way to bake with kids.  Blueberry strongly suggests baking your own muffins rather than buying them from the store!

Blueberry says you will need the following ingredients:
2 cups flour
1/2 cup milk
2 cups blueberries
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup butter
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
Cinnamon mixed with sugar for muffin topping


Orange Blossom



Orange Blossom loves orange juice and says it’s a great way to start your morning.  She also loves drinking orange juice throughout the day so she likes to try different ways to make it a fun treat.  Orange Blossom’s favourite orange treat, and easy to make, is pouring orange juice over ice in the blender, and blend into a nice cold orange blossom slushy!  Add your favorite fruit or frozen yogurt for a yummy dessert!

Orange Blossom’s Ingredients:
Orange Juice
Ice
Fruit or frozen yogurt
