California Grapes Review and Easy Appetizers!

With summer in full swing, it's time for all of those fun parties and barbeques!  For appetizers,  have you ever thought about using grapes in a recipe?  Grapes are really healthy for you!  California-grown grapes account for 98% of all the grapes sold in the US!  For this review I received the Green Black Red: Recipes for Cooking and Enjoying California Grapes Cookbook, along with $10 to purchase the grapes.  So, I thought I would have a little fun and came up with four different appetizers using grapes.  First I started out with grapes and Mini Phyllo Pastry Shells, then I filled each of the pastry shells with four different fillings and topped them off with grapes.

For this creation I used Philadelphia White Chocolate Indulgence to fill the pastry shells and added three grapes to the top.  These are really delicious and very easy to make!  This one was my favorite!


For my second creation I used Vanilla Sugar-Free Pudding in the pastry shell and put another three grapes on top.


My third creation I used Tillamook Vanilla Bean Yogurt to fill the pastry shells and added three grapes to the top.


For my last creation I used Darigold 4% Small Curd Cottage Cheese to fill the pastry shells and topped them off with three grapes.

I have always loved grapes and use them in desserts and sometimes savory dishes too. If the grapes seem to be a little overripe i cook them first and addthe juice to the cream cheese, pudding or yogurt base to being out the grape flavor.
