first aid

Do you have a first-aid kit in your car?  I'm sure you have had times in your life, where you needed a first aid kit and didn't have one, I know I have.  It's really a good idea to have a first aid kit in your car and at home, you never know when you will need one!  For this review I received the Auto/RV Pak First Aid Kit.  I was really quite surprised to see, so many first aid supplies in this particular kit!  Since it is for the auto/RV and not very big, I just assumed it wouldn't have much in it.  Wow, was I ever wrong!  It's packed with everything you might need in an emergency!  Being prepared for an emergency does put your mind as ease, so I put this first aid kit in my SUV and if anything does happen I will be prepared.  I would highly recommend the Auto/RV Pak First Aid Kit from

One time when we were on a road trip, my son choked on some fried cheese. It was terrifying. I got out to pull him out of the car and do the heimlich, but about that time he vomited and cleared his own airway. So scary!

Being a Paramedic there has never been a time that I haven't had a first aid kit, but I would love to put this in my wife's car, in case she needs it, or if I am with her I could use it if I had to stop and help someone. Thanks for hosting.

We ride quads as a family and my oldest was riding a bike we borrowed from a friend - a much more powerful bike than any of us own. He came up a hill and we were in the way in the Polaris Ranger, so he had to go back down and hit an unexpected bump at the bottom, smacking his chin into the handlebars. He made it back up the hill to where we waited for him, but he was bleeding heavily. I jumped out with our supplies backpack, but I had so much stuff jammed in there that it took me too long to get to what I needed. He fainted and started to slide down the sand dune. Luckily, my husband grabbed his feet and pulled him into place, where I could apply pressure and stop the bleeding. The gash wasn't too bad, but he obviously had a concussion. And we were in the middle of nowhere. We made it out of the dunes and back to camp, where we had a medic check him out. But I sure wish my first aid supplies had been handier. Ziploc bags stuffed into a backpack just don't cut it when time is of-the-essence.

My daughter and I were at a ballgame, and she was running in the rocks. She fell and hit the sharpest rock in the area and gashed her knee pretty bad. We were in a very small town that had closed up for the night and could have used a first aid kit. We drove 30 miles to a hospital and she got 8 stitches in the ER.
