In today's world, it's nice to have a home security camera!  It's great knowing, what's going on at home, as well as outside of your home.  Sometimes, I hear things going on outside and I don't want to look out the window or open the door.  So, I really love having a home security camera, it's perfect for finding out what's going on.  I feel more secure, having a home security camera.  Do you own a home security camera or have you thought about getting one?

For this review I received the D-Link Cloud Camera 5000 HD Pan/Tilt Network Camera, with mydlink!  It was pretty easy to hook up.  All I did was put in the CD and followed the instructions.  Once I had it all set up, I uploaded the firmware to the camera and decided to change it to a wireless camera.  I also registered for a mydlink account to access the camera, you can also adjust a few of the settings in mydlink, but it's much easier to customize the settings on your camera's IP address.  During the set up, it will give you, your camera's IP address, be sure to copy it somewhere.  I also downloaded the android app, with the QR code, it makes it so easy for viewing on your smartphone!

The camera was a little heavier, than I expected.  It only weighs 1.9 lbs!  I adjusted the color, but the picture was really blurry, so I looked at mydlink support, but that really didn't help me.  Then I decided to look at the reviews on Amazon.com and see if anybody else had the same problem.  Somebody mentioned, that you could rotating the lens to make a sharper picture and that was not mentioned in the installation manuals.  I figured it was worth a shot, so I rotated the lens and it worked!  The picture is really clear now!  The microphone works great!  You can really hear what's being said.

You can also record videos, but you need a SD card to put in the camera.  I don't have an extra one, so I didn't check out that feature.

Another advantage I really love, is that I can view the camera on my TV's, with the D-Link MovieNite Plus, which is a streaming device, that you can watch the latest movies, shows, and music on-demand, you can also get more apps/channels featuring Netflix, Vudu, Pandora, Facebook, Twitter and more!  I love all this technology, especially when it's so easy to access, through my computer, smartphone or TV.  I can also give my family members access to my dlink account, so they can also monitor my home, when I'm away.  I would highly recommend the D-Link Cloud Camera 5000!

This sounds like a great camera to monitor your home inside and outside. I also like that you can give access to a someone else when you are gone so that they can check it out for you.

First I'd have to get a smart phone or tablet, but looks like a good thing for those who do.
