The Miracle Kidney Cleanse shows you how to flush out toxins! I was reading how important the kidneys are, the author Lauren Felts, CN states that the kidneys are the missing link in the body-health connections and that they are often thought of as the last stop in the body. Lauren wrote this book to use as a guide for dealing with acute kidney disorders and a teaching tool towards Superior Health!
Miracle Kidney CleanseFor this review, I received a copy of The Miracle Kidney Cleanse! This is another awesome health book, that I would highly recommend! I'm always interested in learning how to detox my body and have superior health. Everybody usually thinks that if they do a colon cleanse they are good to go, but actually the kidneys are critical to the body's natural detoxification process and to its innate ability to generate energy on a very primal level. If you don't have the proper kidney function, you are unable to accrue the vigor and willpower needed to overcome health obstacles or properly eliminate harmful substances.
Lauren goes on to say, that both the colon cleansing and liver/gallbladder cleansing are also necessary, those cleanses move toxins into the bloodstream, which then must be filtered and excreted by the kidneys. If your kidneys aren't working properly, then the toxins re-enters the bloodstream and end up accumulating in the kidneys. With the accumulation of toxins in the kidneys, it can lead to inflammation, toxicity and an increase in symptoms bodywide.
If you plan on doing a cleanse, you need to start with the kidneys first to open up the detoxification pathway and all the toxins can be effectively removed from the body. In order to cleanse you need to work from the bottom up, to make sure to clear the path for the movement of toxins and you are more able to avoid those nasty detoxification side effects, such as headaches, body aches and fatigue. By doing the cleanses, you are allowing your organs and gland systems to repair and function at optimal levels. By cleansing the kidneys, you are helping to prevent illness and making a stronger body! The best thing about doing a kidney cleanse, is that it's extremely gentle and has been designed to work with all body types and health states.
Toxins are everywhere! I was very surprised to learn, there are about 75,000 chemicals approved for use in the United States and 2,000 more approved each year!
Lets take a look at some of the chemical uses:
- 5,000 Chemical Ingredients in Cosmetics
- 3,200 Chemical Ingredients in Foods
- 1,010 Chemical Ingredients in Consumer Products
- 500 Chemical Ingredients in Pesticides
In the 2004 British Medical Journal, toxins found in the human body are accounted for perhaps 75% of most cancers. When you are exposed to toxins, they often accumulate in our fat tissue, blood and organs, including the kidneys! Recent estimates show that most Americans have somewhere between 400 - 800 chemicals stored in their bodies. To make matters worse, these toxins are found in unborn babies! A Study by the Environmental Working Group found an average of 200 industrial chemicals and pollutants in umbilical cord blood. If you ask me that's pretty sad, we need to take care of our bodies and cleanse them more often.
Lets take at look at some of the toxins we are exposed to in our everyday life:
Indoors: Dust mites; flame retardants (PBDEs) in pillows, mattresses, electronics, drapes, furniture and carpet; mold and fungus; formaldehyde; VOCs (volatile organic compounds) from paint, carpet, and furniture; phthalates and PVC (polyvinyl chloride) from shower curtains, vinyl floors, and window and wall coverings; lead from paint; pesticides tracked indoors.
Food: Antibiotics in non-organic meat and dairy; dioxins in animal products; herbicides; pesticides; fungicides; phthalates and PVC from plastic wrap and plastic containers; heavy metals (fish); chloroform; perfluorooctanoic acid from non-stick cookware and microwave popcorn; BPA from metal cans, plastic packaging, and coffee makers; MSG; artificial colors and dyes.
Tap Water: Prescription drugs, birth control pills, chlorine, fluoride, heavy metals, chloroform, perfluorooctanoic acid. (Phthalates and PVC from bottled water.)
Cosmetics: Lead, formaldehyde, triclocarban (bar soap) and triclosan (liquid soap), retinyl palmitate and retinol, fragrance, PEGs (Polyethylene glycols), ceteareth-20, parabens, DMDM hydantoin, toluene, DBP (dibutyl phthalate), phthalates, benzalkonium chloride.
Cleaning Products: DEA (diethanolamine), TEA (triethanolamine), fragrance, sodium hydroxide, ammonia, chlorine.
Outdoor Air Pollution: Benzene (gasoline; perchloroethylene (dry cleaners); methylene chloride (solvent and paint stripper); dioxin; asbestos; toluene; formaldehyde; and metals such as cadmium, mercury, chromium, and lead compounds.
The book shows a list of heavy metals and chemicals that have been shown to harm the kidneys and where they are often found. The list may surprise you!!! You will learn how the kidneys work and what they do for the body.
In Chinese medicine, the kidneys are known as the Root Of Life, Gate of Life, Minister of Power and Home of the Heavens Constitution. Chinese medicine believes that our kidneys are our very foundation, the most deep-seated of all the organs and encompassing not jut the kidneys themselves, but also the adrenal glands. This book talks quite a bit about Chinese Medicine and how the kidneys interact with the rest of the body.
In Chinese Medicine, the kidneys store the Jing, or life essence, the deepest source of energy. You will also read about the Yin and Yang of the kidneys. The book tells you what types of symptoms you will have if your Jing or Yin and Yang are out of balance. I found this section to be extremely interesting!
My husband has been on prescription water pill for over 28 years and I was very surprised, to see how many of his health issues are related to toxic kidneys! There were quite a few that I was really surprised to see on the list. Here's couple of them that were on the list of symptoms, hearing loss and hair loss.
So, how many toxins are you exposed to everyday? After hearing all of this information, are you ready for a cleanse? I hope so, I sure want to, so I can live a healthy life, free of pain and be full of energy!
