Everybody is always looking for ways to improve their healthy. Have you ever heard of Yacon Syrup before?  Yacon Syrup has been used for weight management, which increases fiber in the diet and promotes good bowel function.  Yacon Syrup also lowers blood sugar, while preventing and controlling hyperglycemia.  It helps to restore renal activity, as well as being a powerful antioxidant!

Is Yacon Root Syrup For You?

For this review, I received one bottle of Yacon Syrup!  The Syrup has a very unique flavor, it kind of reminds me of molasses, but not with the over powering taste, with a hint of maple syrup and maybe a taste of fig.  It's kind of hard to describe, but it's an excellent choice for a low calorie sweetener and better than using artificial sweeteners, that are full of chemicals.  I love the fact that it has prebiotics and probiotics in it, for healthy gut flora!  I highly recommend the Yacon Syrup!

It's high in prebiotics and probiotics.  The syrup contains up to 50% of FOS (fructooligosacharides) and it has been found that consumption of FOS does not increase blood glucose, and helps boost your bodies metabolism.

The FOS is not broken down by enzymes in the human digestive system and reaches the colon without being digested.  The syrup is very low in calories (about 20 calories per tablespoon).  The FOS in the syrup acts as a soluble fiber, which increases stool bulk to help prevent and control constipation.  The FOS help feed the beneficial bacteria in the colon.  Studies have proven that good bowel bacteria to anti-inflammatory and immunity-boosting effects, and increasing their numbers may help maintain a healthy weight.  So, if you need a helping hand in losing some weight this would be a great supplement for you!

There was a show on Dr. Oz called, The Yacon Syrup Project.  The show talks about what Yacon Syrup is, weight-loss studies that have been done, how it works and how to use it.

Take one (1) teaspoon 3 times a day, preferably taken with or before meals.  Can be used as a sweetener in your tea/coffee and other beverages.  Can be added to various recipes, salads and/or on top of pancakes.

The Yacons are grown in the fields in Peru and are Organic certified by manufacturing specialists.  Then made into 100% pure raw organic syrup formula, with no added preservatives.
