Valerian Root has been used for hundreds of years to treat insomnia, nervousness, hysteria, and digestive ailments.  Have you tried using Valerian Root supplements to help you sleep?  Many sleeping pills have side effects, so people are turning to natural supplements to help them get a good night sleep.  Some people do experience unpleasant side effects with supplements that have Valerian Root in it, such as nervousness, restlessness, anxiety and heart palpitations.  Pregnant and nursing women should not use valerian root.

Valerian Sleep contains Valerian Root, GABA and Melatonin.  GABA (Gamma-Amino Butyric Acid) is an amino acid that helps to calm nerve activity and helps to normalize brain waves.  Melatonin is a hormone that's made by the pineal gland and helps to control sleep cycles, as well as wake cycles.  The combination of those three ingredients can do wonders for your sleep and help you wake up refreshed, so you can be more productive during the day!

Finding the Perfect Sleep-aid Supplement

For this review, I received one bottle of Valerian Sleep!  I thought that this sleep aid supplement would be an awesome product, but after reading the label on the "Other Ingredients", I could see that it was NOT.

Valerian Sleep contains gelatin, maltodexterin, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, natural flavor.

Most likely the Maltodextrin is derived from Monsanto's GM corn.  Maltodextrin is used throughout the natural products industry and is genetically modified.

Then there is that magnesium stearate.  Magnesium Stearate is a flow agent additive that can actually block the absorption of nutrients into your body.  Regular consumption of magnesium stearate is linked to the develop a harmful "Biofilm" in the intestines that can cause digestive problems.

I also found that it was rather strange that on Amazon the Valerian Sleep's label did not include the "Other Ingredients".  As you can see in the picture above I put a yellow arrow in front of the "Other Ingredients" and on the Valerian Sleep's website I could not find those ingredients either.

I can not recommend Valerian Sleep due to these reasons!

Ingredients:  Proprietary Blend
  • Valerian (root)
  • Gamma Aminobutyric Acid (GABA)
  • Melatonin

Other Ingredients:  Gelatin, maltodextrin, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, natural flavor.

Prize: One Bottle of Valerian Sleep! ($14.97)
